My friend Mary Hobdy, widow of Grambling coaching legend Fred Hobdy and former longtime secretary to GSU&#8217;s second president R.W.E. &#8220;Prez&#8221; Jones, died at approximately 3:18 p.m. today after suffering for years with cancer.
Her last public appearance came during homecoming weekend in 2009, when an endowed professorship was dedicated in Fred Hobdy&#8217;s honor.
