Nick Deriso has covered Grambling and Southwestern Athletic Conference football since 2002, earning columnist of the year honors from the Louisiana Sports Writers Association (2003), Louisiana Press Association (2004, 2007) and the AP Managing Editors of Louisiana/Mississippi (2005-06). As an editor in Monroe, La., he led a Sunday sports section that was named Top 10 in the nation by the Associated Press in 2006.
